downtown

we went out for lunch last friday afternoon in a sub shop in downtown, and with our extra time, strode around.
i enjoy this picture mainly because of the stark colors... and their faces.

it was a magnificent day.
after the art gallery, we all went back to school because of our classes, and because we finish around the same time, we went over to jenna's college where they were performing opera scenes. exciting, to say the least! they had scenes from the marriage of figaro and carmen.
that evening was the kickoff for the 48-hour film challenge. if i haven't yet explained this, basically, you have 48 hours to make a five-minute film you know nothing about until the official "kickoff," when a packet of information is handed out. it was an AMAZING experience! no sleep, definitely, but honestly, at that point, sleep had been nonexistent, that my eyes were failing me and they had to send me home. i was also blessed that they gave me sunday morning off to go to church... i appreciated that.
there was a total of about 42 groups who joined the challenge. and get this - there was a group of 12 year olds. i would laugh my head off if they got even 3rd place.
our film turned out very hilarious. i'm excited to share it with you all.
also, there are those 15-minute films that my class has been working on, that film that i'm the director of cinematography (called "Taken"). praise the LORD because we are the only group who finished just about a week in advance! everyone else is pulling hairs to meet the deadline, and God had mercy on us. I think everyone hates us for being done, and i'm continually praying for everyone in our group not to have arrogance or pride about it...
I'm still crazy busy with everything else - i've got a load of art projects still to be done. Otherwise, I'm still trudging along with life. i still can't seem to find a job over the summer - at least, i haven't heard anything from anyone. it's a good possibility no one's hiring...
i love coffee. i'll be glad when i'm at home where sleep will be enough to energize me.
love you all!
